Today marks the 100th day (more like the 108th) of blogging and it’s been such a great experience thus far! And as a beginner blogger, I have learned tips to increase blog traffic. Blogging allows me to share out and reflect on what’s going on in my life and I must say I love it!
Finally, I have hit my groove! I’m getting more and more comfortable with the development of my blog and all the trials and errors in the process. So I wanted to offer a few things I learned along the way to beginner bloggers that will assist with increasing blog traffic to your site.
By no means am I an expert, alternatively, I am only sharing things that has truly been helpful to me in the last few months to increasing blog traffic.
You are not alone, everyone wants 100,000 visits a day. Here’s an easy way to increase blog traffic
To clear the pink elephant in the room there is no silver bullet to getting tens of thousands of viewers/ followers in the first week. The truth is that you will need to create content that will help your viewers and that will attract your audience.
So in saying that try to focus more on what you are offering on your blog, is it parenting tips, fashion inspiration, recipes, whatever it is offer something that will help your audience.
In my experience, the key thing I discovered was to focus on the development of my blog so when your audience visit they will actually want to sign up to receive your updates.
So enjoy the process! Fall in love with the routine, the topics, and the knowledge you are gaining in designing something you can be proud of! I enjoy writing my dating chronicles “dear lover” the most-it’s a series of dating experiences. https://www.mytruthlieshere.com/conflict-in-relationships-how-do-you-deal-with-relationship-insecurities/(opens in a new tab)
Ok so lets’ get on to the top tips for blogging that will increase blog traffic. I have categorized the tips in four areas, Schedule, Post, Promote, and Self Care.
Scheduling: Create a Routine
- Schedule- Schedule the days you will work on your blog. I work full time so my blog day is Sunday. I do work on my blog during the week but Sunday I commit to it 100%. Therefore mainly work on the post, the SEO and Pinterest post.
- Blog Notebook- if you don’t already get a book solely for your blog. A notebook designated for you to track all your ideas and all things related to your blog. This really keeps me on track. I write my goals for the month, any follow up /next steps. Also anything I need to research. This is essential!
Blog Posts: Easy tips to immediately increase your blog traffic
- SEO (search engine optimization) – This takes the most time after writing a post, aligning it to SEO is extremely important. SEO increases your chances of being listed on the first page in any search engine website i.e Google and Binge. For example, if your topic is related to dating and someone searches dating tips in a search engine you can enhance your chances of someone reaching your sight if your SEO is completed. I use Yoasts.
- Plug Ins: Plug Ins are used for a number of things, avoiding site spam, updates, adding features on your site t name a few. So use it. I use plug ins the most to upgrade a free theme. In addition, plug ins can be used to add social medial, carousel of pictures, likes, share buttons on your blog.
- ELEMENTOR is the most useful plug in if you have have a free theme. It allows you to update your site on a whole new level. *Elementor only worked in google chrome for me not Internet Explore.
- Share pins- add share buttons to your post. I am still working to find one I like but this will be important when you join Facebook groups and group members are asked to share out a post.
- Likes- I just added this feature and its underutilized. However, I like the idea a person can just thumbs up the article if nothing else after reading it.
- Google – Google everything you have a question about “How to add affiliate links?” “How to add share buttons?” In fact, 99% of the time there is a YouTube video for exactly what you looking for. Google is your new best friend.
Promote, Promote, Promote!
- Registering your blog on social media sights is monumental to increase blog traffic.
- Particularly, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest are the top social medial sites to join.
- Pinterest- Pinterest will drive a lot of organic traffic to your blog. Create 3-5 Canva pins for your blog post and pin related pins to your board. Those viewers will see your pins and increase your blog traffic
- Facebook – Join at least 3 Facebook groups and be active daily.
- Register for Canva https://www.canva.com/ -it’s free! You can create pins for Pinterest, page art, and even logos for your website, and social media platforms.
- Read bloggers that inspire you- learn more from the community you joined. See what you like and dislike; maybe even incorporate some of those things into your blog to increase blog traffic.
Self-Care: Take care of yourself its only one of you.
- Take a Break- This is a hard one but you must give yourself time to step away from your blog. I attempt to take off all nationally recognize holidays. Since, I work a full time job it’s important to have off days to just live life.
- Light a candle- Aroma therapy is important to my energy when I’m creating. Having a clean scented space promotes my productivity and manages my stress.
- Go at your pace, set goals and just get started.
Surely, your blog will grow organically! Continue to create content that you enjoy and promote it! You will increase your blog traffic in no time. Drop your websites information in the comments so I can visit your site.
Happy Blogging!

I love the fact that you included self care in this post. A lot of the time, searching topics like this becomes an obsession and it was really refreshing to have that reminder. You rock 🙂
