Finding a Healthy Work Life Balance
Whew! What a whirlwind of a month! There is something ominous about the idea to never finding the appropriate work/life balance. As a new entrepreneur, finding a healthy work life balance is essential to not burning out too quickly. As a business owner I’m learning this too is a key variable in growing your business. I am extremely proud of the progression of my business just over a month in really executing the means to secure financing backing for those long term business goals. Within a month, I have partnered with over 28 companies, I have had to figure out how important it is to find a healthy work life balance.
Where the money reside?!?!
Listen, I love chancing the bag! I’m all about figuring out “where the money reside” but I have to set a financial goal for the month and stick with that. I find myself, throughout the week adding more and more work to my plate without consideration of other things.
It’s just as important to make time to do laundry, go grocery shopping, spend time with your family and friends, hell try on a blouse at Zara to remove yourself from work mode.
As a new entrepreneur, I want to maximize my profit but I also want to avoid burnout too soon. I’m sure my mom would be happy to hear me say that, as she just reiterated this to me last week. Naturally I’m a hard worker, I throw my all into everything- my work, my relationship, my goals and I go get it!
Work Life Balance Is Essential
But finding a balance with things that are also important to me has to be a priority. This is very difficult for me so I am taking all suggestions!
The biggest challenge is that in addition to my business I also work a fulltime job in the state government. While I hope to at some point transition full time as an entrepreneur, for now, I am currently building my business to sustain a lifestyle and financial means until that day.
So the things that have suffered the most have obviously been time with family and friends.
Dear Lover who? Since I have committed to my business I have made a conscious effort to focus on Atwater Advocates! I obviously miss those I truly adore and hope that I don’t worry or annoy them with my rants and insecurities as I embark on the most self-isolated time I have experienced in some in a very long time.
I’m not looking to meet anyone new and develop anything serious because honestly who the hell have time for that- no one will sign up for a partner working 16 hour days.
I know boring right?! But literally, when is there time to build new relationships? I figure there will be a time for that at some point, today just isn’t the day.
