Wearing color contacts as an adult is it weird or no?!
In the day with social media filters and a broader acceptance for body modification through plastic surgery are things like color contacts making a comeback?
Well in full disclosure I recently purchased a few set of color contacts as another fun thing to do on the weekends. During COVID I really push the envelope for trying new things. I tried blonde hair, a blue wig, tooth gems and now color contacts. I ordered three sets and the green ones are by far my absolute favorite. But what do people really think about color contacts on adults. And when I say adults, I’m really referencing those over 30 years old.
Naturally I’m extremely blind. I wear clear contacts or glasses daily. So wearing contacts is nothing new. I have excessive dry eyes and currently wear daily contacts that I dispose after one use. Something I didn’t totally consider when I initially purchase the color contacts.

I personally couldn’t see myself wearing color contacts to my 9-5 or on a date to meet someone new. Solely because I’m not that courageous but do think it would be something fun to wear on the weekend.
But are color contacts socially acceptable overall?
If I’m honest, I do view a man wearing color contacts a bit differently. Seeing a guy in color contacts I may question a number of things about him. Is he vain? Does he have a more feminine side? I don’t know- I just can’t see myself being attracted to a guy with color contacts.
But is that the same for woman? Do guys view women wearing them the same?
The reaction of my friends made me really ponder if people a.) take contacts too seriously or b.) color contacts are not socially acceptable for adults over a particular age.
Either way I thought to ask the gang.
Ok so what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you see someone in color contact? Quickly add it in the comments. Trust me, I have thick skin so don’t feel the need to sugar coat it. I need to know what people are really thinking. When I greet the person at the FedEx, or ordering a drink at the restaurant I want to have an idea what they are thinking.

Overall the contact color quality is outstanding! How they blend the colors are incredible. The price is also reasonable, for a set I paid $80 or so. However, the contacts in my opinion are not very comfortable. It could very well be my excessive dry eye but the thickness of the contacts make it difficult to keep the contacts in for a long period of time.

Hi, as you know I’ve worn colored contacts and green were my favorite also, once a "brother" accused me of trying to be Caucasian, I promptly told him " I know who I am, a brown eyed woman wearing contacts like you would a green hat".
